once again, i apologize for being selective in what i discuss. i have to be careful with survey responses, and that isnt fair to all who do such surveys. to the extent that i use twitter, when i provide space related tweets, i provide the *why* i posted something. when i dont, i dont.

method 3 works (heh) and is easy, but not very flexible. method 4 and 5 are horrible. (namely, not compile time and not safe, and ugly..) just because i know some one who did it the wrong way, doesnt mean its the way to go. such things are often dumb, because people are idiots and just dont bother to learn, and code high quality software. i wish i would have used method 3.

and this is why the numbers shown in the reports are not directly comparable to the reported numbers. because at any given time, people are at different stages of finishing the project and asking for money. so, the numbers reported today are not comparable to those that were reported a year ago.

you can take a list of all the people who are finishing projects and compare it to a list of all the people who are still starting projects. this will give you an indication of how quickly the investment is made in the project. but remember, there is no guarantee that this will ever pay out, or that this will pay out more than a regular project.

i understand why using a decimal point is confusing in the results, but then its not really meant to produce percentages for financial investment, so i think its fine. why not just use a comma instead? also, those are really low numbers, i think theres something seriously wrong.
