Karan Mehta is an assistant professor of applied linguistics at the University of California at Berkeley. He received his PhD in Linguistics from the University of California at Berkeley in 2012. His major interests include the study of second language acquisition and teaching, with a particular focus on the role of language and culture in academic achievement, social and emotional adjustment, and spoken and written language development. He has published research on these topics in such journals as TESOL Quarterly, Language Teaching Research, TESOL Practitioner, and Applied Linguistics.
Etan Chabani is an assistant professor of health psychology at the School of Medicine at the University of California, San Diego. His major research interest is in the areas of health psychology and stress and coping, with a particular emphasis on the interaction between physiological, psychological, and social factors that affect disease. He has taught at the undergraduate and graduate levels for the last ten years at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). He is currently a member of the scientific advisory board of several research initiatives at UCSD.
