If you're just interested in viewing the Visio 2010 drawings created with Microsoft Office Visio 2010, that's a different ball of wax. The Microsoft Add-In for Visio 2010, in addition to opening Visio 2010 XPS files that can be viewed in the Document Toolkit, allows you to save those files as XPS documents. For a free demonstration, we've included a Visio drawing in the -demo/ folder. As a bonus, the Microsoft Visio Add-In allows you to download the drawing as an XPS file. And once you do that, you can view it in any XPS viewer, including the Document Toolkit. Do download the XPS file and try it out.
The second method is to purchase the Microsoft Visio Viewer ( =40248FA0-5EEF-4F5C-BF63-0B50C19B4AD1&displaylang=en ) and download it from Microsoft. This will give you the ability to open and view some types of Visio 2010 files. This includes XPS files created by Microsoft Office Visio 2010. But unfortunately, it will not read or open Visio 2010 files created by third party software. If you are interested in Visio 2010, we recommend you use the Microsoft add-in and the Document Toolkit demo. Microsoft provides a link to the Visio Viewer here ( =204F11DA-B8D2-4A31-A6C8-D32F2EA2D4EB&displaylang=en ).
If you are using Microsoft Office Visio 2010 and want to create and save your own XPS file, you can do so directly in Microsoft Office Visio 2010. Open the file you want to save in Microsoft Office and then click on File > Save as > XPS. This will create the new XPS file and save it for you to view or print as you wish. If you are not using Visio 2010 for this project, you can still download an XPS file from the Document Toolkit online demo ( =demo/ ).
When you open the XPS file, your Microsoft Visio drawings will be displayed in full screen. In the demo, you can also double click on the XPS viewer to open the file in Microsoft Office or copy the XPS file to a folder and open it in Microsoft Office. You can also use Microsoft Office to Export the file to a common image format such as PNG, JPG or TIFF. If you want to export as a PDF file, you can use Microsoft Office to create a PDF file and open that file in Microsoft Office 2007 or higher. In the screenshot below, you can see the Microsoft Office Export dialog:
